Three PUSD principals will headline a presentation at a community meeting at the Tekeyan Cultural Center on August 10 at 6:00 pm.

Hosted by PUSD School Board member Jennifer Hall Lee, the program features Dr. Benita Scheckel, Ms. Lori Touloumian, and Ms. Kristin Forrest. Superintendent Brian McDonald will introduce the principals.
Dr. Brian McDonald said “Principals Touloumian, Scheckel, and Forrest are visionary principals who have made a significant difference in the performance of their schools, and I look forward to the community getting to know them.”
Lori Touloumian has been the principal of Eliot Arts Magnet, and she has been promoted to principal at Marshall Fundamental. She said “I am so excited to have the opportunity to have both middle and high school students, who have been my soul’s joy for 22 years in PUSD!”
Dr. Benita Scheckel, the principal of Altadena Arts Magnet who will now be the principal for both Altadena Arts and Eliot Arts Magnet, said “The opportunity to lead an articulated K-8 program of rigorous arts and French instruction is a dream come true. Principal Touloumian has set the stage for excellence, and I will strive to pick up the baton and keep the music playing so all families who attend our schools feel the connected and vibrant energy of our community.”
Kristen Forrest is the principal of Daniel Webster Elementary and she said, “I am looking forward to continuing our tradition of schoolwide excellence by providing a school culture that is safe, supportive and academically rigorous.”
There is free parking in the Tekeyan Center, 1900 Allen Ave., Altadena. Beverages and appetizers will be served.
