The Altadena Town Council will convene Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 7:00 pm, with a meeting agenda focused on public safety, fire recovery efforts, schools, infrastructure, and community services. Residents may watch the meeting live on Pasadena Media’s YouTube channel.

The meeting will begin with a flag salute led by Joy Chen, followed by roll call conducted by Recording Secretary Sylvia Vega and approval of the May 19 agenda by Vice Chair Milissa Marona.
Officer reports are scheduled from Chair Nic Arnzen, Vice Chair Milissa Marona, Treasurer Darlene Greene, Corresponding Secretary Kim Yu, and Recording Secretary Sylvia Vega, who will present the April 21 meeting minutes for approval.
Public safety updates will include reports from Altadena Sheriff’s Station Captain Marquez, California Highway Patrol Officer Keller, and Maria Grycan, community services liaison for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The council will also hear a special presentation regarding Eliot School from Pasadena Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Blanco and Micheal Dunning.
Community reports are expected to cover several recovery and service initiatives, including a McChrystal Group after-action review presented by Chris Taylor, an update from the YMCA by Vince Luculano, and results from the EFSN Los Angeles Fire Survivors Insurance Survey presented by Joy Chen.
Additional presentations will include updates on the Altadena Mobile Recreation Program from Parks Manager Mister Johnson, library district developments from Altadena Library District Director Nikki Winslow, and a public works report on street sweeping from Steven Gutierrez.
Committee reports will address topics including land use, renters protection and recovery, legislation, the Altadena Eaton Fire Recovery Fund Advisory, rebuilding and infrastructure, safe streets and mobility, and council bylaws.
The agenda also includes opportunities for general public comment and comment on agenda items. Speakers are limited to two minutes and are required to submit comment cards before or during the meeting.
The meeting will conclude with a census tract report for Tract 4610 before adjournment.
