On December 19, a group of passionate Polytechnic juniors will bring the community together for a special Winter Art Fundraiser at Lineage Performing Arts Center, with the goal of supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena.

      By News Desk

The event will raise funds to purchase much-needed sports equipment and art supplies, ensuring that local youth have access to both creative and athletic opportunities.

Organized by Rhianna Cohen, Tara Parsa, Edge Woodruff, Justin Redick, and Miles Piro, the event will feature a diverse range of local youth artists showcasing their talents across dance, music, visual arts, and voice. The fundraiser highlights the power of the arts, while also addressing the need for expanded access to creative and athletic programs for young people in the community.

Co-president Tara Parsa shared her thoughts on the importance of the event, stating, “After working on collaboration and planning, we realized that the most impactful way we could support our community was by using the art forms we love to support young people who deserve greater access to creative and athletic opportunities.”

The fundraiser is more than just a showcase of local talent, it’s a heartfelt initiative designed to provide tangible support to the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena, an organization dedicated to offering accessible programming that helps children thrive. “This fundraiser has always been an outlet for artistic expression and a community-wide event to support local needs we care all about,” said Rhianna Cohen, another student organizer.

The idea for the event was sparked after the devastation of the Eaton Fire, which inspired the students to take action and channel their energy into a cause close to their hearts. Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly benefit the Boys & Girls Club, helping the organization expand its sports and arts programming for young people in the Pasadena area.

The event promises to be a meaningful and inspiring evening, with attendees enjoying an array of performances and exhibits that celebrate the talents of local youth while giving back to the community.
