      By News Desk

On Sunday, June 25, at 6:21 pm, the South Pasadena Police Department received an alert from the department’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system that a stolen 2010 burgundy Hyundai Elantra was entering the city.

Officers responded to the area and located the Hyundai pulling into a gas station in the 700 block of Mission Street. Officers confirmed that the vehicle was stolen and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, 37-year-old Pasadena resident Alejan Garcia, and the passenger, 26-year-old Pasadena resident Stephan Christian, were taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, it was discovered that both Garcia and Christian were in possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Both Garcia and Christian were subsequently booked, cited, and released, with a court appearance scheduled at a later date.
