Glimmer
You say you’re a poor boy
with nothing to give–
no cubic zirconia,
not to say diamonds.Yet, with a touch of light
from your eyes,
the brown of wood,
of sparrows,
turns into gold. The sky and the sea
glitter like sapphire,
and the roses,
the sunsets,
shine like rubies.Your lips are softer
than rose quartz,
your love a timeless,
glimmering gem.Ο
raining day
the leaves rustle
in the wind…
how your voice
still riffles my hearta falling leaf
of the pear tree
lands at my feet…
finding my heart
in love and loss

there is a way
to greet the woman
you know is the one —
convincing her
comes nextshe rose before me
my eyes hardly opening
tucking the covers around meshe dressed then kitchened and more
waiting breakfast for me to appear
it’s our anniversary of getting upΟ
the lights are low
the evening quietthe day was fascinating
yet the quiet of the evening
sitting together reading
just us … just us
