Following a series of investigations, Pasadena Community College has terminated Dylan Miller, Dean of Kinesiology, Health and Athletics as of August 23, 2023.
By Briony James
Miller had been suspended in April after allegations from faculty members of creating a hostile work environment, retaliatory actions and other violations of the PCC’s standards and California State law.
A third-party investigation instituted by PCC’s Human Resources Department following the April allegations, referred the matter to PCC’s Board of Trustees. The Board made the decision to terminate Dean Miller. Miller had been investigated for similar issues several times previously with no finding of wrongdoing.
Dr. Laura Ramirez took over as KHA Dean while Miller was under suspension; Dr. Stephanie Fleming has now been named active Dean until a permanent Dean is appointed. The Courier, PCC student newspaper, reports that PCC currently is engaged in a formal search for a new Dean and expects to fill that position by the end of this year.
