Tail Town Cats, operator of Tail Town Cat Café and Adoption Center, has been recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity for their work involving cat and kitten adoption, prevention of cruelty to animals and public education surrounding animal welfare.

      By News Desk

Tail Town Cat Café and Adoption Center at 1780 E. Washington Blvd in Pasadena, offers an up close and personal location for those looking to learn more about cats as well as those looking for a fun place to relax and make new feline friends.

“Tail Town opened with the modest goal to connect foster cats with adopters in an open-air environment, but it’s grown into something that’s truly special: fun, wonderful, quirky and wild that brings an unexpected twist into what is found at other cat cafes,” said Gwendolyn Mathers, acting executive director of Tail Town Cats.

Designed as a space where visitors can play, pick up, pet and snuggle (if the cats are interested), Tail Town believes this allows potential adopters to get a better feel of cat bonding as well as increased socialization for the kitties. Today the women-owned and operated facility provides adoption-ready cats with an open, 2,000 square foot space where up to 40 cats can roam freely. The cat café offers a playful home for cats to interact with potential adopters, those looking for a kitty fix for cat cuddling or seeking a great spot to work remotely.

In addition to time in the cat lounge (booked in 60-minute blocks), Tail Town also has weekend adoptions events in the lobby, the ability to hold exhibition and gallery events, product launches, private parties and corporate events/offsites in a unique location with the cats.

      Afterhours Events

Each month Tail Town has a rotating schedule of fun afterhours events surrounded by (sometimes mischievous) cats. The popular core Tail Town events include:

      • MEOW-N-PAINT:
A purr-fect night of creativity and cats where you get to create your own Meowsterpiece! A 21+ event with all art supplies provided in a classic, cat-themed canvas painting session.
      • KITTY BINGO:
90 minutes of cat-themed Bingo with fun, prizes and KITTIES! A 21+ event.
      • TRIVIA NIGHTS:
A trivia competition for humans and cats, which humans are expected to win. Solos and teams are invited to compete against feline beasts and other human teams for fun and prizes. A 21+ event.
      • CATS ON MATS PURRLATES:
Engage your kitty core with this 45-minute basic Pilates class with lots of feel-good stretching mixed in. After class, cool down for 15-minutes with our wonderful cats.
      • CATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS:
Join up to 40 friendly and adoptable kitties for a morning of yummy cereal, coffee and a screening of retro cartoons!
      • MEOW AND MAKE:
Crafting is for Caturdays in this 10+ event for the whole family.
      • DUNGEONS & DRAGONS:
Adventurers wanted – space is limited for this event and each player will be randomly assigned a CATastic character based on one of the resident cats!

Tail Town Cat Café and Adoption Center is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (with the last entry each day at 4:00 pm). Sixty-minute cat passes are available for lounge visits with reservations online or in-person.
