In accordance with California’s COVID guidelines, Pasadena’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will reopen outdoor playgrounds on Friday, October 2.

Visitors to outdoor community playgrounds must comply with the following requirements:
- Face masks over the mouth and nose are required for everyone 2 years of age or older with caregiver supervision at all times to ensure face mask use.
- Do not use the playground when different households are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet or when the capacity limit has been reached.
- Caregivers must monitor to keep adults and children from different households at least 6 feet apart.
- Consider coming on different times or days to avoid wait times and potential crowded times.
- No eating or drinking in playground, to ensure face masks are worn at all times.
- Wash or sanitize hands before and after using the playground.
- Elderly and persons with underlying medical conditions should avoid playground when others are present.
- Limit visit to 30 min per day when others are present.
Signage will be posted with COVID-19 protocols at each playground.

Thank you for the update. Our newly 2 year old has been missing the swings and climbing structures. She will be thrilled, but we will be safe.
I don’t see anything on the City’s website that supports what’s presented in this article. They’ve got a lot of work to do in less than 24 hours to get the playgrounds open. They all still have chain link fences up. Highly unlikely the playgrounds will be open tomorrow. You guys should do a little research before you post an article like this, it’s irresponsible.

I stand corrected. The fences that were up at the playground at Grant Park are now no longer there. I’m astonished that they were able to take them down so quickly. Unfortunately, now that field is fenced off but at least the playground is open.
