Dr. Matt Feaster, lead Epidemiologist for the Pasadena Public Health Department, was recognized for his contributions to the COVID-19 pandemic by the California Association of Communicable Disease Controllers (CACDC).

During its annual meeting on November 6th, Dr. Matt Feaster was recognized for his exceptional contributions made to the efforts of disease control and prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic, garnering the Abbey Award (ABove and BEYond Award). Dr. Matt Feaster has served on the executive committee for the CACDC for more than 3 years. He has been with the health department since 2009.
The CACDC is comprised representatives from each of the 61 local health jurisdictions in California including epidemiologists, public health nurses, health officers and other disease controllers as well as representatives from the California Department of Public Health. The CACDC supports the core public health functions of surveillance, prevention, and control of communicable diseases – services vital to the protection of the public, policy development, and evaluation of public health delivery systems.
Its members have been especially busy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
