The event will open its doors at 6:30 pm, with the official launch of the Community Bike Plan scheduled for 7:15 pm. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, view the path unveiling, ask questions, and show support for community biking initiatives.
The gathering will include family-friendly activities such as games, food, and other entertainment. RSVPs are encouraged through Eventbrite.
The event is sponsored by the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition, a volunteer organization that promotes the development of Complete Streets throughout the community. The group defines Complete Streets as “livable” streets designed to ensure safe access for all users, regardless of age or mode of transportation, including pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers, and public transit users.
According to the coalition, while designs vary based on local needs, Complete Streets may include features such as highly visible crosswalks, accessible transit stops, pedestrian and bicycle signals, median islands, sidewalks, dedicated bike lanes, street trees, and water-collecting bioswales.
The Community Bike Plan unveiling aims to highlight these principles and encourage broader community engagement in building safer, more accessible streets in Pasadena.
