Pasadena’s annual Arbor Day celebration returns on Saturday, April 18, with a community tree‑planting event led by the Public Works Department in partnership with Council District 5 and the Pasadena Beautiful Foundation.

The event begins at 8:00 am at Villa Parke, located at 363 E. Villa Street. Participants will gather at the multi‑use field near the picnic tables off Garfield Avenue and East Villa Street before heading out to plant new street trees throughout the surrounding area.
Arbor Day, first proclaimed by the Arbor Day Foundation in 1874, is one of Pasadena’s longstanding environmental traditions and remains among the most widely recognized public tree‑planting events nationwide.
This year, Pasadena Beautiful Foundation has donated 15 new street trees, which volunteers, guided by City staff, will plant around Villa Parke. Community members interested in taking part are encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor work, including long pants, closed‑toe shoes, and sun protection.
The City invites residents of all ages to join in supporting Pasadena’s urban forest and contributing to a greener future.
