Pasadena started slow on Tuesday giving up an early 1-0 lead in the first inning to the LA Harbor Seahawks. This deficit was added to in the third inning when LA Harbor scored another run to push the lead to 2-0.

This was the last scoring any team would until the seventh inning. LA Harbor was finally able to get back on track with two hits in the seventh, however was unable to capitalize stranding the bases loaded.

Pasadena did not make this mistake. The Lancers scored two runs in the seventh inning thanks to a Ryan Ivanyi fielder’s choice that scored Thomas Villanueva from third base, and a Mark Manuel single that scored Bryan Richman from second.

The Seahawks seemed unfazed by the now tied game as they bounced back re-taking a 3-2 lead by scoring one run in the eighth inning. However, this was the final scoring they would do for the remainder of Tuesday’s game.

With the momentum of scoring two runs in the seventh inning, the Lancers piled on and scored four runs in the eighth to take a commanding 6-3 lead going into the final frame. Ivanyi secured his second RBI of the game with a single up the middle, with Jack Esguerra, Bryan Richman, and Adrian Roman also contributing with singles and RBIs of their own.

With this late game push, the Lancers secured their 10th win of the season and head into Friday’s matchup against LA Harbor with a 1-0 series lead.

Ernesto Duenas pitched well for Pasadena going six innings, allowing two runs, and striking out five. Connor Campbell and Ben Griffith both played their relief roles well, only allowing one run between both pitchers.

Adrian Roman led the offense going three for five in hits, while Ryan Ivanyi led the team in RBIs with two.

All components helped Pasadena garner a hard fought victory and look to continue their three game win streak on Friday, March 7 against the LA Harbor Seahawks.
