Pasadena Water and Power will shift construction for the Raymond Avenue Underground Utility District project to the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Washington Boulevard beginning September 21.

      By News Desk

The work follows the ongoing installation of underground infrastructure along Raymond Avenue between Maple Street and the northern city limits. The start date was delayed because of rain and deteriorating soil conditions.

Construction is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is expected to continue for approximately three weeks. Drivers should anticipate reduced traffic lanes, temporary lane closures and periodic rerouting, depending on the active phase of construction.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for delays and consider alternate routes during work hours.

The project will relocate existing overhead utility lines underground. The work is being performed by the city’s authorized contractor, Doty Bros. Construction Company.

For more information or to request a call with project management, contact Pasadena Water and Power at (626) 744-4005 or visit PWPweb.com/Underground.
