      Pasadena—ColoradoBoulevard.net:

Students’ artistic freedom will be on display for all to enjoy at the Paseo from March 10 to March 19 in No Boundaries 18, the 18th annual PUSD art exhibition presented by the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD).

      By News Desk

The exhibit will showcase more than 300 artworks by students from throughout the District. It will kick off with ArtNight Pasadena, a grand opening reception featuring student performances on Friday, March 10, from 6 – 10 p.m. at The Paseo (300 E. Colorado St., Suite 151) in historic downtown Pasadena. The gallery exhibit will be open to the public every afternoon, March 11 through March 19. Admission is free.

No Boundaries 18, is presented by the Pasadena Unified School District Arts Education Department in collaboration with community arts partner, ArtworxLA.   No Boundaries 18 is produced in partnership with the City of Pasadena’s Division of Cultural Affairs, the Pasadena Educational Foundation, Art Night Pasadena, and The Paseo.

This year’s exhibition centers the connection between creativity and wellbeing, with themes of Hope and Joy, Healing and Resilience, and Dreams and Possibilities. The exhibition was curated by students at Rose City High School who worked with professional curators, exhibition technicians, and museum educators to learn about exhibition development and career pathways in the arts. In addition to the individual artists, No Boundaries 18 illustrates how the students deeply considered the thematic and aesthetic connections between artworks.

The idea of No Boundaries is a thread that ties together the exhibition. There are no boundaries to the ways in which students can create and present work, just as there are no boundaries to the audience’s perspective and connection to the work. This sensibility is core to how the exhibition was curated and produced.
