SoCal Transit Month is a regional celebration of sustainable and alternative transportation options hosted by MoveLA. Throughout September, Pasadena Transit and Pasadena Dial-A-Ride are promoting events and offers designed to encourage residents to ride more and drive less.
California Clean Air Day is held annually on the first Wednesday of October. The event encourages individuals and communities to take meaningful steps to improve air quality.
The initiative is “built on the idea that shared experiences unite people to action to improve our community health,” according to Clean Air Day organizers.
Metro and Foothill Transit will also offer free rides on Clean Air Day as part of the regionwide effort.
Residents can participate in RideContest for a chance to win prizes by logging their transit trips, earning badges, competing against friends, and tracking their progress on a leaderboard. The leaderboard shows how many riders are traveling with each participating agency.
Pasadena residents are encouraged to log their Pasadena Transit rides by September 30 to help the agency reach the top of the rankings. Readers should check the RideContest details for information about registration, eligible trips, and whether September 30 is the final logging deadline.
