Pasadena’s commitment to supporting older adults will take center stage on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as the City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Department, the Senior Commission, and Pasadena Village host the fifth annual Older Americans Month Celebration at Victory Park. The free event runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at 2575 Paloma Street.

The celebration will highlight the city’s extensive network of resources for older adults, featuring more than 50 exhibitors, educational presentations, giveaways, food, and opportunities to connect with local organizations. The program will open with remarks from public officials, and attendees are encouraged to register in advance to receive additional event details.

“This celebration reinforces the importance of empowering older adults to take an active role in their health and well-being. It connects people with tools, programs, and services that help them thrive at every stage of aging,” said Koko Panossian, Director of the PRCS Department.

Older Americans Month is observed nationwide each May to honor the contributions of older adults and promote healthy aging. The 2026 theme, Champion Your Health, emphasizes prevention, wellness, and self‑advocacy, encouraging older adults to take an active role in both physical and mental well‑being.

Katie Brandon, Senior Commissioner and Executive Director of Pasadena Village, noted the strength of the city’s support network. “Our community is fortunate to have an extensive network of support, from health care and older adult programming to cultural and recreational opportunities,” she said. “We’re looking forward to bringing people together to connect, learn, and celebrate aging in a positive way.”

The event is supported through in‑kind contributions from Pasadena Village, Home Instead–Pasadena, UCLA Health, Villa Gardens, and other community sponsors.
