Stills from a 16mm film that was purchased on eBay, reveal how Pasadena’s “new” Santa Fe Railway depots looked back in 1937.

The photo above shows Santa Fe Railway 4-8-2 mountain type steam locomotives road # 3738 and 3727, heading east bound into the Pasadena station.
The second photo shows the old station that was standing just north of the “new” one. Santa Fe Railway Depots were on Raymond St., between Del Mar and Green St. Santa Fe had just opened the new mission style depot in Pasadena that same year. The footage is marked: “dad leaving for England 1937“.
The photo above is of the same general area in Pasadena as it looks more than 70 years later. The train station building is currently occupied by La Grande Orange Cafe, the luggage room is a pizzeria with the same name, and the Del Mar Metro station is located right behind them.
