Six mayoral candidates are counting on you voting in tomorrow’s elections in order to get the majority of votes to be elected the next mayor of Pasadena.

In a race that some political observers predict to be a tight race for the job of mayor, many are expecting a run-off, unless one candidate pulls off a majority of more than fifty percent.
Run-off
What to expect in the likelihood of a run-off.
- If no candidate gets 50 percent plus one vote, the two top candidates that garner the most votes will face off in the run-off.
- The run-off elections will take place on April 21st.
- The deadline to register (or re-register) to vote for the run-off elections is 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the 15th calendar day before that election, which places the deadline on April 6th. (The L.A. County Clerk’s website lists the date as April 4th, but said it will change it to the correct date after we contacted them.)
- One possible debate, maybe two, will commence in that short period of time. There are talks about a joint debate hosted by a group of organizations. Concrete details will be hammered as soon as Tuesday’s election results are in.
It will be interesting to see how many voters will turn out for this important election. Make sure to check back for results and updates throughout the evening on Tuesday, March 10.
Election day
- On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- You can vote one day early today, if you are not registered as an absentee voter. Voting takes place at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall until 5:30 p.m.
- The deadline to register to vote was February 23rd.
- If you just moved to Pasadena, you can vote on Tuesday at one of the polling places. Your vote will be considered a provisional ballot and will be verified by the L.A. County Clerk’s office.
