The Pasadena Rental Housing Board will host workshops, for landlords and property managers, and for tenants.

      By News Desk

The Pasadena Fair and Equitable Housing Charter Amendment has been in effect since December 22, 2023, but a legal challenge delayed the establishment of the PRHB. Now fully operational, the Rental Housing Board is pleased to welcome all tenants and property owners in Pasadena to attend the upcoming workshops.

Both workshops will be facilitated by Matthew Siegel, Esq. Siegel is an attorney with over 30 years of working with tenants and landlords for successful rent control implementation. Siegel served as a Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board Member and later staff attorney in the Berkeley Rent Control program. Siegel’s experience also includes providing rent control compliance workshops to landlords.

Participants can expect a discussion of topics including the rent roll back, legal rent increases, just cause, and relocation. While these workshops do not replace professional legal counsel on individual situations, they will provide free information from an attorney about compliance with the measure and general experiences. Spanish language interpretation will be provided for both online workshops. Space at both online workshops is limited. Participants must register.
