The Pasadena Public Library has announced the reopening of its Hastings Branch Library, located at 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd., following a period of closure for building improvements informed by community feedback.

The renovation work focused on improving accessibility and the overall flow of the building. A newly constructed corridor within the reading area is one of the key upgrades, designed to significantly enhance movement throughout the library. The corridor also provides direct access to the restroom area, allowing the library’s meeting room to function as a dedicated space for programming and community gatherings without disruption from patrons passing through to reach other areas.
Library officials emphasized that the improvements were made with both patrons and staff in mind. “We know how important the library is to our community, and while closures are rare, this work was necessary to improve the building for patrons and staff alike,” said Library Director Tim McDonald.
With the renovations complete, Hastings Branch staff are preparing to welcome the public back and showcase the updated facility.
