Builders of all ages put their creativity on display Saturday, July 11, during the 10th annual Design Your LEGO Showcase at Pasadena Public Library’s Jefferson Branch Library.

Held from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the library, 1500 E. Villa St., the event brought together LEGO® enthusiasts to admire original creations, celebrate the art of building, and cheer on fellow participants.
Contestants competed in five categories: Family, Young Children (ages 5–8), Children (ages 9–12), Teens and Adults. Each builder presented their creation and shared a brief overview of the inspiration, planning and craftsmanship behind the design before a panel of judges.
Entries were evaluated on originality and creativity, presentation, and complexity. Judges said every submission reflected thoughtful design and careful craftsmanship, making the selection of winners a difficult task. Ultimately, the winning entries stood out for their originality, intricate construction, visual appeal and compelling presentations.
Among the top honorees was Michael, winner of the Adult category, whose creation paid tribute to the Pasadena Public Library iBook Club. His design incorporated ADA accessibility symbols and featured figures using canes and wheelchairs, celebrating the welcoming community of adults who gather monthly to discuss books and ideas through the lens of disability inclusion. Michael said the project honored the program’s impact on his life and the lives of fellow participants.
In the Children (ages 9–12) category, Johnathan earned top honors for Hope in the Ashes, a deeply personal creation inspired by his family’s experience of losing their home in the Eaton Fire and the rebuilding journey now underway. The colorful design offered a moving expression of resilience and hope.
As the winners were announced, the audience responded with enthusiastic applause, celebrating builders whose creations demonstrated both technical skill and meaningful storytelling.
The annual showcase continues to celebrate imagination, craftsmanship and community while encouraging builders of all ages to share their ideas—one brick at a time.
