Nearly four years after the tragic shooting death of 13-year-old Iran Moreno, Pasadena police have released significant new information that may help identify the individuals responsible.

On November 20, 2021, a gray Ford Fusion stopped in a parking lot across from Moreno’s home on the 900 block of North Raymond Avenue. A passenger exited the vehicle and fired two shots eastward. One of the bullets struck Moreno, who was playing video games in his bedroom, fatally wounding him.
On June 16, 2025, the Pasadena Police Department issued a public update, revealing for the first time that the shooter was wearing a red and black The North Face hoodie. Investigators also shared a partial license plate number of the Ford Fusion used in the attack.
According to detectives, this new evidence has led to a breakthrough in the investigation. With the help of community tips, police have identified the specific vehicle involved, tracked its movements before and after the shooting, and developed composite sketches of individuals seen with the car near the time of the crime.
The shooter is described as a Black male, medium complexion, approximately 33 to 37 years old, standing 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall, and weighing between 185 and 195 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red and black The North Face hoodie.
The suspected getaway driver is described as a Black female, medium complexion, approximately 27 to 31 years old, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing between 165 and 185 pounds.
Authorities believe the suspects may have connections to Pasadena, San Jose, and Alameda County.
