Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, received the 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award!

As residents of Pasadena (and residents of surrounding cities and counties, and the entire state) already know intimately, the Playhouse is a treasure.
It has presented an extensive range of theater, music, dance, education, and special events too numerous to mention, for nearly a century. It has already made history, impacted countless lives of artists and patrons, and is beyond deserving of this additional prestigious award. In a message posted on social media, the Pasadena Playhouse said the following:
We’re speechless, screaming, crying, feeling every feeling and just generally so excited to announce that #PasadenaPlayhouse is the recipient of the 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award!
We couldn’t have achieved this without the exceptional community of artists, arts administrators, production professionals, volunteers, audiences, and supporters who are all connected and inspired by our founding ideal of being a theater of, by, and for our community. This is your Tony as much as ours!
