A woman claiming that Planned Parenthood in Pasadena deliberately misdiagnosed her is suing both the organization, locally and federally, and the individual doctor.
By Briony James
Kipenzi Chidinma claims that she sought aid at the Pasadena clinic of Planned Parenthood for heavy vaginal bleeding, headaches and other symptoms and was told she had “common constipation.”
After arguing with her care provider, she insists she was “denied a referral or ultrasound.” She also claims she went back to the same clinic months later with continued symptoms and that a new doctor at the facility found a mass “within minutes” and that the facility “does not have ultrasound equipment.” After contacting her insurance provider, she claims that she went to a different facility and was diagnosed with fibroids too advanced at the time for non-surgical treatment.
Chidinma is pursuing undisclosed damages. The suit was filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court.
