The Pasadena New Thought Center (PNTC) is inviting the community to join them for the Compassionate Pasadena Exploration Day, an event designed to celebrate and promote compassion throughout the Greater Pasadena Area.

Scheduled for November 8, 2025, the event will feature a variety of performances, presentations, and interactive activities for all ages, aimed at fostering a deeper sense of compassion within the community.
This event is a collaboration between local non-profit organizations and leaders dedicated to nurturing a compassionate culture in Pasadena. Activities will include art, music, poetry readings, interactive performances, and resource tables where attendees can learn more about the Compassionate Pasadena Initiative.
“We are thrilled to be part of this exciting day that celebrates compassion in all its forms,” said Jo Ann Gaines, a leadership team member of Compassionate California. “Following up on a dream that Felecia Lenee (aka ‘Fe Love’) started, we are launching a grassroots Compassionate Pasadena Initiative. Our long-term goal is to gain a formal ‘Compassionate Pasadena’ designation through a City Resolution, joining the 20 other compassionate communities across the state.”
The event will kick off at 11:30 am with Compassionate Arts in Action, a dynamic program showcasing local talent through poetry, music, dance, and spoken word performances. At 12:30 pm, attendees are invited to the Meditation Garden for an interactive performance art piece titled Mother Earth, Fragile Planet, followed by a 1:00 pm presentation by the Charter for Compassion and Compassionate California in Harmony Hall.
Other highlights include a sound healing session in the Meditation Garden at 1:30 pm, a 2:00 pm presentation by the Pasadena Human Relations Commission, and a drum circle at 2:30 pm. Throughout the day, the Resilience Garden will offer art-making opportunities for all ages, while local resource tables in Harmony Hall will provide valuable information on how to get involved in creating a Compassionate Pasadena.
Rev. William Carpenter, senior minister of PNTC, expressed his excitement about hosting the event: “We are honored to become a hub for the Compassionate Pasadena movement at our historic center. For over 100 years, Pasadena New Thought Center has served the community, and we are proud to continue that legacy by promoting compassion and love for all families in the area.”
The Compassionate Pasadena Exploration Day is free and open to all, promising to be a heartwarming and inspiring afternoon for individuals and families alike.
