The City of Pasadena is maintaining a list of houses available for potential relocation, providing information for property owners and prospective buyers interested in moving existing structures rather than demolishing them.

The City’s current list of available properties can be found on its Pasadena Houses Available for Relocation webpage, including information about individual houses.
According to the City, older homes can contain architectural features such as intricate detailing, woodwork and tilework that are less common in modern construction. Preserving these structures can provide opportunities to restore and reuse existing housing.
Relocating a house also can reduce demolition-related costs for current homeowners, including the expense of waste removal. Moving existing structures may also reduce the amount of construction waste sent to landfills.
The City’s information identifies Pasadena and Altadena as potential relocation areas. Several companies have focused on relocating older homes that might otherwise be demolished, with the goal of preserving historic character lost in the Eaton fire.
