Families with young children in Pasadena now have access to free in-person consultations thanks to a new partnership between the City’s Libraries and Information Services Department and the Pasadena Public Health Department.
By News Desk
Led by Tim McDonald, Director of Libraries and Information Services, the initiative offers drop-in office hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Jefferson Branch Library, located at 1500 E. Villa Street.
Beatriz Dzul Perera, family navigator with the Pasadena Public Health Department, is available during these times to answer questions in both English and Spanish. She helps connect families of children ages 0-5 with a wide range of resources, including healthcare, developmental screenings, childcare, school enrollment, and other support services.
No registration is needed, and walk-ins are welcome.
The program is part of the Cal-InSPIRE initiative, a state-funded public health program focused on supporting families with children who have special healthcare needs. After meeting with the family navigator, families are encouraged to enjoy the many resources and learning activities offered at the Jefferson Branch Library.
