The City of Pasadena has officially launched its new Sustainability website serving as a comprehensive hub for all citywide environmental and sustainability initiatives.

“The City Manager’s Office is excited to launch this new website as a valuable tool for the larger community,” said Brenda Harvey-Williams, Assistant City Manager. “The website is intended to inform the community on where we are in terms of meeting our citywide environmental and sustainability goals and will regularly be updated with the latest information.”
The website brings together information and updates from all City departments involved in advancing Pasadena’s long-standing commitment to environmental leadership.
Key highlights from departments include:
- City Manager’s Office: Coordinates sustainability efforts across all City departments.
- Pasadena Water and Power: Working toward becoming a 100% carbon-free electric utility by 2030, while ensuring a safe water supply and promoting conservation.
- Public Works: Leads programs on stormwater management, waste and recycling, zero waste, and urban forestry.
- Transportation: Oversees the transition to zero-emission transportation, including fleet electrification and promoting walking and biking.
- Planning and Community Development: Implements sustainable land use and building codes.
- Parks, Recreation and Community Services: Maintains parks and trails for community access to open space.
- Public Library: Offers educational programs and a wide lending collection that supports sustainable living.
- Public Health: Addresses climate-related public health challenges.
- Police and Fire Departments: Prepare and educate the public on climate emergencies.
- Finance Department: Aligns sustainability goals with fiscal planning and resource management.
- Human Resources: Operates the Prideshare program to reduce commuting emissions and supports the EV fleet.
- Information Technology: Enhances sustainability with tech-driven efficiency and data use.

- Rent Stabilization Department: Fosters stable, fair, and sustainable housing practices.
