The project aligns with the City Council’s ongoing goals to maintain and enhance public infrastructure while improving mobility for residents. Crews will address approximately 600 locations throughout the city, focusing on priority areas identified through regular maintenance reviews and accessibility initiatives.
Work will include the removal and replacement of about 75,000 square feet of sidewalk. In addition, curb and gutter improvements will be carried out where necessary to enhance stormwater drainage in surrounding neighborhoods.
The initiative follows the City Council’s approval on November 24, 2025, of a construction contract awarded to C J Concrete Construction, Inc. to complete the project.
City officials say the improvements are expected to significantly enhance pedestrian safety, increase accessibility for individuals with disabilities, and improve drainage conditions citywide.
Construction is scheduled to begin April 13, 2026, and is anticipated to be completed by July 2026.
