Marco Neves and Jessica Hardin, husband and wife residents of Pasadena, saw an opportunity to create an event in a beautiful city known for its arts and culture scene. And so, Pasadena International Film Festival (PIFF) was founded in 2012.

PIFF now is rated in the top one hundred out of over 9000 film festivals worldwide, according to FilmFreeway. Since its inception, it has honored Martin Sheen, Jason Ritter, Tom Arnold, Melora Hardin, and Michael Gross, among others.
This year, PIFF is showcasing 117 films, the very best in independent cinema. Each film showing ends with a moderator-hosted Q&A. Expected attendance includes Black Summer’s Jamie King, It’s Wyatt Oleff, Primetime Emmy Award winning Camryn Manheim, Cobra Kai’s Jacob Bertrand and SNL’s Cheri Oteri. PIFF also is honoring Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Nominee Jane Kaczmarek with this year’s Rose of Pasadena Award. Jessica Hardin, Festival Director, said:
PIFF is thrilled to be honoring Jane Kaczmarek with our ‘Rose of Pasadena’ award this year. We look to a member of our community, someone who contributes to not only the Hollywood community but also the Pasadena community, and Jane has done so in spades – with her artistic merits such as her work on television, film, and theatre, and also her charitable giving and devotion to organizations such as the Pasadena Playhouse, Pasadena Educational Foundation, and the Pasadena Conservatory of Music. We created PIFF with the hopes of cultivating community, so honoring artists who elevate Pasadena is a part of that.
PIFF also will present “The Great Gatsby Gala & Award Ceremony” hosted by The Speakeasy and “The Passholders Lounge” hosted by the Lyd and Mo Photography Studio. For a full schedule head to the festival’s official website.
