PASADENA – ColoradoBoulevard.net:
A predicted fifty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms translated into a hail storm on Tuesday afternoon.
By Rena Kurlander
Hail fell on Pasadena and other foothill communities, bringing traffic to a standstill on several passes. Hail blanketed Colorado Blvd. according to eyewitness reports from pedestrians, many of whom were caught by surprise by the hail. It reached 90 degrees the day before.
The National Weather Service (NWS) forecast predicted a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10:00 pm, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 44. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation 50%.
All that changed around 4:25 pm when it started to hail. Parents and kids were seen in their backyards making makeshift snowmen from the hail, while holding umbrellas.
Southern California Edison website is showing several outages throughout the San Gabriel valley.

That’s the definition of climate change. High acceleration of changes between extreme weather events. Super crazy tho. I put all my winter clothes away on Monday.
