On Tuesday, Jan. 25, Jason Lyon announced key endorsements of his campaign for the Pasadena City Council.

      By News Desk

The endorsements are from a broad coalition of local leaders: former California Community Colleges Chancellor and State Senator Jack Scott; Los Angeles County Assessor Jeff Prang; Pasadena City College Trustees Sandra Chen Lau and Tammy Silver; Pasadena Planning Commission chair Steven Olivas and Planning Commission members David Coher, Dr. Julianna Delgado, Carol Hunt Hernandez, and Tm Wendler; faith community leaders Rev. Ed Bacon, Rev. Mike Kinman, and Sharon Crandall (Senior Chaplain, LA County Jail); nonprofit executive director Mary Donnelly-Crocker; historic preservation advocate Glenn Camhi; and Housing Task Force member Megan Foker. Each of these individuals endorsed Lyon in their private capacity, and their organizational titles are listed for identification purposes only.

“I am deeply honored to have the support of these amazing community leaders,” Lyon said. “I am truly grateful for their confidence and trust in me. We are committed to building on these endorsements to establish a diverse partnership of voices and perspectives in Pasadena.”

Lyon is seeking to replace retiring Vice Mayor Andy Wilson in the District 7 seat on the Pasadena City Council. Vice Mayor Wilson is not seeking reelection.

In 2017, Mayor Terry Tornek appointed Lyon to Pasadena’s Historic Preservation Commission. Council Member Wilson tapped Lyon to join the Planning Commission in 2019. Lyon currently serves as Vice Chair of both the Planning Commission and the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals.

Lyon is a partner with Hahn & Hahn LLP, the historic Pasadena law firm founded in 1899. He lives in the Madison Heights neighborhood with his husband, Tim, a real estate agent, and their two sons.
