Pasadena City College Trustee Dr. Steve Gibson has announced his candidacy for re-election to a second term representing Area 3 on the Pasadena Area Community College District Board of Trustees.

Gibson, who was first elected in 2022, currently serves as president of the board. Area 3 includes Northwest Pasadena and parts of southwest Altadena, including PCC Northwest at John Muir High School.
In announcing his campaign, Gibson said he plans to continue focusing on expanding educational opportunities and workforce training programs while improving access to the college for students.
During his first term, Gibson has supported initiatives including the expansion of career education and workforce training programs, as well as efforts at PCC Northwest. Following the Eaton Fire, he also supported the college’s recovery efforts, including plans for a construction trades lab and expanded training programs in fields such as fire technology, welding and electrical technology.
A Pasadena City College alumnus, Gibson earned an associate degree from PCC before completing graduate studies in communications and education.
The election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.
