To the PCC community:
Dr. Erika Endrijonas, Pasadena City College’s 16th Superintendent/President, will be leaving on July 31 to begin service as Superintendent/President at Santa Barbara City College on August 1. She would like to thank the staff, administrators, faculty, and the Board of Trustees for their hard work and support during her four and half years at Pasadena City College.
During her tenure, Dr. Endrijonas successfully and safely navigated the college through a once-in-a-century global pandemic and continued the college’s reputation for student success as evidenced by a third Top 10 Aspen Prize finalist nomination, the 2020 statewide Chancellor’s John D. Rice Award for Student Success, annual recognition as a Champion of Education by the Campaign for College Opportunity, as well as remaining a consistent leader in awarding Associate Degrees for Transfer and in transfer of students to the CSU and UC.
Dr. Endrijonas also led the college through its March 2021 ACCJC comprehensive visit, where PCC was deemed 100% compliant with all accreditation standards.
Dr. Endrijonas also advanced diversity, equity, and inclusion at PCC, including hiring the first cabinet-level Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer in the state, implementing hiring practices that have increased the diversity of the employees and the college community, providing additional resources to our empowerment programs, and establishing the Family Resource Center to serve our growing population of student-parents at PCC.
Under Dr. Endrijonas’s guidance, PCC established a facilities master plan, including funding for the reconstruction of the Sarafian building and a successful campaign for the $565 million Measure PCC general obligation bond that passed with 70.59% approval.
The Pasadena Area Community College District Board of Trustees wishes to thank Dr. Endrijonas for her service to the college. We wish her success in returning to her former institution to serve as the Superintendent/President of Santa Barbara City College.”
Dr. Endrijonas has served as the Superintendent/President of Pasadena City College since January 2019 and she previously served as President of Los Angeles Valley College in the Los Angeles Community College District for four-and-a-half years. On May 8th, the Santa Barbara Community College District Board of Trustees announced that Dr. Endrijonas was selected as the next Superintendent/President of SBCC.
