The Pasadena Central Library Seismic Retrofit and Renovations Project continues to move steadily through the construction phase, with no unexpected issues reported, according to project officials.

The renovation effort remains on schedule for substantial completion in 2028.
This week, construction crews covered and secured windows, cast stone, and other portions of the historic building that will remain in place during construction to prevent damage during ongoing work.
In the coming weeks, crews are expected to begin protecting nearby trees as preparations continue for the removal of roof tiles and the installation of scaffolding around the building’s perimeter.
The project is part of a broader effort to strengthen and renovate the Pasadena Central Library while preserving key architectural elements throughout construction.
