This free event will highlight the wealth of resources available to older adults in Pasadena, offering a fun and informative day filled with giveaways, food, presentations, and more.
The festivities will kick off with remarks from various public officials, and the event will feature a diverse range of exhibitors showcasing services and opportunities for older residents. In keeping with the nationwide theme for Older Americans Month, “Flip the Script on Aging,” the event will focus on transforming perceptions of aging, challenging stereotypes, and encouraging new conversations about the aging process.
“The Older Americans Month event at Victory Park fosters intergenerational connections, awareness, and education through meaningful celebration,” said Koko Panossian, Director of the PRCS Department. “In its fourth year, we are confident that this will be the biggest celebration yet.”
This year’s event is designed to engage people of all ages, with a special emphasis on educating attendees about the array of programs and services available to older adults in Pasadena. Katie Brandon, Senior Commissioner and Executive Director of Pasadena Village, emphasized the significance of the event: “We’re so proud to showcase all that Pasadena has to offer older adults at this event. From the programming at the Pasadena Senior Center, the facilities at Huntington Hospital, the community-building at Pasadena Village, our many parks and recreational facilities, and our vibrant arts and culture community, opportunities and support for older Pasadenans abound. We’re excited to welcome our neighbors of all ages to come learn more about these incredible resources.”
The event is made possible with in-kind support from Pasadena Village, Home Instead-Pasadena, UCLA Health, Villa Gardens, and other generous sponsors.
