Get ready to hop on your bike and enjoy one last ride this May! Pasadena Bike Month wraps up on Saturday, May 31, 2025, with the popular Pie & Ice Cream Are Friends Ride, a fun, family-friendly event celebrating cycling and dessert.
By Katlyn Ong
Organized by the City of Pasadena Department of Transportation in partnership with Day One and the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition, this celebration promotes biking as a safe, healthy, and sustainable way to get around town. The finale invites riders of all skill levels to pedal along a scenic 9-mile route, stopping at local purveyors to sample some of America’s favorite treats, delicious pies and ice cream!
Safety is a priority, especially for younger riders—helmets are required by law for anyone under 18 and strongly encouraged for all participants. Riders should ensure their bikes are in good working order, bring lights for any evening riding, and pack essentials such as water, snacks, sunscreen, and a spare tube.
Parking near the event is limited, so organizers encourage attendees to bike to the starting point. If driving, visitors should note there is limited street and paid parking at Playhouse Village Park, with additional lots nearby (parking at Vroman’s is strictly prohibited).
Pasadena Bike Month is part of an ongoing initiative to create safer, more inclusive streets for everyone, whether you walk, roll, or ride. This sweet ride is a perfect way to celebrate the community’s commitment to active, eco-friendly transportation, all while indulging in some tasty treats.
Don’t miss out. RSVP today and enjoy the ride!
