The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) has extended a particle pollution advisory through Tuesday, June 23, due to ongoing smoke impacts from a smoldering structure fire in Boyle Heights.

According to South Coast AQMD, smoke from the fire continues to affect air quality across several areas, including central Los Angeles County, the San Gabriel Valley, the eastern San Fernando Valley, and the northwest San Bernardino Valley.
Officials emphasized that the advisory is not a shelter-in-place order.
The particle pollution advisory remains in effect from Sunday, June 21, through Tuesday, June 23, as air quality conditions continue to be monitored.
For residents in Greater Pasadena and throughout the San Gabriel Valley, weather conditions this week are expected to trend warmer after a relatively mild start to the week. Monday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 83 degrees and light afternoon southwest winds. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 64 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
Temperatures are expected to climb significantly on Tuesday, reaching a high near 91 degrees after morning patchy fog clears. Wednesday will be even warmer, with highs approaching 92 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Sunny and dry conditions are expected to continue through the remainder of the workweek, with highs easing back into the mid-80s Thursday and lower 80s by Friday.
The combination of warm temperatures, sunshine, and generally light winds could allow smoke and fine particle pollution to linger in some areas, particularly during the overnight and morning hours. Residents in affected communities are encouraged to stay informed about local air quality conditions while smoke from the Boyle Heights fire persists.
