Side Street Projects, in partnership with artist-in-residence Ginko Ching Lee, invites the public to explore Crafting Connections, a solo exhibition that highlights the significance of sustainability and reuse in contemporary art.

The exhibition, which opens on Saturday, April 12th, will be held at Remainders Creative Reuse Gallery 787 and will run through April 26th.
This dynamic collection of artwork showcases a variety of upcycled materials transformed into beautiful and functional art pieces, including home goods and decorative items. Each piece emphasizes the importance of sustainability and the potential for everyday objects to find new life through creativity.
One of the exhibition’s standout features is an interactive installation: a tricycle-driven pom-pom machine designed by Ginko and her partner, Scoop. This unique, hands-on piece invites visitors to participate in the art-making process. Kiki Joel, store manager at Remainders, will also contribute to the installation by adding a pom-pom to the growing display.
The exhibition’s opening event will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, with an artist talk by Ginko at 3:00 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own fabric or yarn to add to the pom-pom installation. However, visitors should note that the interactive component will only be available during the opening day.
