          Award-winning cartoonist Marc Ratner is an animation artist and professor of animation. He journals for survival and sanity, occasionally illustrating his entries. Marc holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and completed graduate studies in Film/Video at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). He has several independent animation projects in development.

        There are a lot of people out there who have tried to practice social distancing but who have still caught COVID-19, perhaps from someone they trust who was not so careful – but often for reasons they never know. I know this was meant to be funny and not as straight commentary, but the way it lands with the cat’s thought at the end is pretty nasty.
