Spring is in the air at the Norton Simon Museum.

While the Sculpture Garden remains closed for the exterior improvement project, enjoy an evening focused on depictions of the natural world, from still-life and landscape paintings to abstract sculptures.
Highlights will include:
- Music in the Galleries: Enjoy informal music performances by bassoonist Leah Kohn and violinist Niv Ashkenazi.
- Artist Demonstration: Observe artist and educator Richard Houston sketch a copy of a botanical painting from the Museum’s collection.
- Pressed Flower Pinch Pots: Using dried plant materials and air-dry clay, create a small pot or trinket dish.
- Tissue Paper Suncatchers: Create a suncatcher shaped like your favorite springtime flower or insect.
- Rainbow Scratch Art: Create your own vibrant still-life or landscape using scratch art sheets.
- Spotlight Talks: Join a Museum Educator for a short discussion on artworks that feature plants and nature.

5:30 pm: Diego Rivera, The Flower Vendor (Girl with Lilies), 1941 - Drop-in Drawing: Pick up drawing materials and spend time sketching in the galleries.
