The Alhambra Farmers Market is open on Sunday, August 20, until 1:00 pm, the city has announced.
L.A. Fire Chief, Kristin Crowley, said at a news conference that the storm is expected to bring 'significant impacts' in the Antelope Valley and San Gabriel Mountains areas. 3" - 7" of rain and winds between 40 - 70 miles per hour are expected, according to Crowley.

A flood advisory is in effect until 8:00 pm for L.A. County:
- Rain rates between 0.20 and 0.50 inches per hour have become common. This will result in pounding of water across low lying areas and areas with poor drainage
Pasadena Unified, San Gabriel Unified, and LAUSD all have announced that an assessment will be made later Sunday as to whether schools will be open Monday.
According to the San Diego branch of the National Weather Service, tropical storm Hilary (currently located approx. 220 miles south-southeast of San Diego) is expected to reach Southern California this afternoon.

The San Gabriel Canyon Off-Highway Vehicle Area is closed due to potential heavy rain and high winds.
Due to the heavy rain, Lacy Park is closed for the remainder of today Sunday, August 20. Pending flooding conditions and safety inspections by staff, the park may be closed through Monday, August 21.
