        New L.A. Metro Micro Fares Start March 24

      On March 24, 2024, Metro Micro introductory fare of $1 is ending.

      The new, L.A. Metro permanent fare of $2.50 will begin on March 24.  New discounted fares for low-income riders, seniors, people living with disabilities, and K-12 and college students will also begin.

      What to expect

      • $2.50 regular fare for a one-way trip
      • Free transfers to Metro bus and rail from Metro Micro
      • 75¢ transfers to Metro Micro from Metro bus and rail
      • LIFE participants can use their 20 free rides to take Micro
      • TAP: Students, seniors, and people with disabilities with Reduced Fare or Access Services TAP cards will continue to ride Metro Micro for $1.
      • GoPass and UPass can continue to ride Metro Micro for $1. You must load Stored Value onto your GoPass or UPass TAP card at any TAP vending machine or TAP vendor.
      • EZ Transit Pass
        • Base riders can transfer to Metro Micro for 75¢;
        • Zone 1 and up riders can ride Metro Micro at no additional charge.
      • Riders Transferring from other transit agencies to Metro Micro will pay only $1.25   (50¢ transfer fee plus 75¢)
      • Transfers from Metro Micro to other transit agencies will vary by agency.

      Use a TAP card to get the transfer and discount benefits

      Passengers who pay with a credit or debit card in the Micro app will pay the full fare of $2.50 and will need to pay again when they transfer to Metro bus and rail.

      At this time, there are no changes to the current eight service zones around L.A. County:

      • Altadena/Pasadena/Sierra Madre
      • El Monte
      • Highland Park/Eagle Rock/Glendale
      • LAX/Inglewood
      • North Hollywood/Burbank
      • Northwest San Fernando Valley
      • Watts/Compton
      • UCLA/Westwood/VA Medical Center
