“Danny’s Trails” a new book by Susana Porras.

A heartwarming new children’s book, Danny’s Trails: Mossley, England by Susana Porras explores the powerful bond of friendship and the incredible strength of the human spirit. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Mossley, England, the book blends truth and fantasy, taking young readers on a life-changing journey.

      By News Desk

Susana Porras, a seasoned traveler and author, brings a wealth of experience from her travels across Europe and Central America. Fluent in both French and Spanish, Porras’s love for exploration and storytelling led her to team up with Danny Makin, a talented illustrator whose life took an unexpected turn after a devastating stroke in 2017. Despite enduring permanent disabilities, Makin’s unwavering spirit fueled his remarkable recovery, reigniting his passion for art. Together, Porras and Makin’s collaboration brings to life a story that transcends challenges and celebrates resilience.

To celebrate the release of Danny’s Trails: Mossley, England, Porras will be hosting an event at the Hastings Branch Library on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 5:00 pm, during Stroke Awareness Month. The event will feature a special virtual countryside hike, where Porras will share her love for life, creativity, and travel. It’s a chance for the community to connect with the inspiring duo and learn how their unique journey led to the creation of this touching book.

Through this collaboration, Porras and Makin hope to inspire others to embark on their own adventures, no matter the obstacles they may face. As Porras explains, “Our combined journeys are proof that life can still be an adventure, filled with hope and possibility.”

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Susana Porras and celebrate the strength of friendship and creativity with Danny’s Trails: Mossley, England—a story that will inspire both children and adults alike.
