Fluent in both French and Spanish, Porras’s love for exploration and storytelling led her to team up with Danny Makin, a talented illustrator whose life took an unexpected turn after a devastating stroke in 2017. Despite enduring permanent disabilities, Makin’s unwavering spirit fueled his remarkable recovery, reigniting his passion for art. Together, Porras and Makin’s collaboration brings to life a story that transcends challenges and celebrates resilience.
To celebrate the release of Danny’s Trails: Mossley, England, Porras will be hosting an event at the Hastings Branch Library on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 5:00 pm, during Stroke Awareness Month. The event will feature a special virtual countryside hike, where Porras will share her love for life, creativity, and travel.
