My TRIBE Rise is joining forces with several local organizations to host two days of Juneteenth celebrations this year under the theme, “Liberation, Light & Legacy.”

On Friday, June 19, the celebration begins with Backyard Boogie, an outdoor event from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at 2283 N. Fair Oaks Ave. The event will feature live music ranging from oldies to contemporary hits, games, neon art and complimentary food. A Juneteenth art exhibition will also be on display.
The celebration continues Saturday, June 20, with a Day Party from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the same location. Activities will include live music and entertainment, water games, recognition of community heroes, food, art and exhibits. Grants will also be awarded to local survivor individuals and businesses.
