City officials said the fire created widespread air‑quality concerns, prompting many households to buy air purifiers to protect themselves from hazardous indoor conditions. The reimbursement program aims to ease the financial burden on families who faced unexpected expenses.
“Protecting the health and well‑being of our residents remains a top priority,” Mayor Elizabeth Yang said. “We recognize that many families incurred unexpected expenses to safeguard indoor air quality during the recent fire. This program is intended to help offset those costs for households most impacted by the incident.”
Program Overview
The reimbursement initiative is open to Monterey Park residents who meet income qualifications and purchased eligible air purifiers during the designated incident period. Funding is limited and will be distributed on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

- Income‑qualified residents are eligible
- Reimbursement up to $75 for air purifiers purchased June 17–28, 2026
- Applications accepted from June 29–July 31, 2026
- Proof of residency, income eligibility, and original receipt required
- Funding available until resources are exhausted
