On Monday, June 5, Rep. Judy Chu and Lloyd Gock, a gun violence survivor from January’s mass shooting in Monterey Park, joined House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Chairman Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) for a forum to engage on a wide range of gun violence prevention issues facing our country.

Since taking the majority in the House of Representatives, Republicans have not held a congressional hearing on decreasing gun violence and mass shootings in the U.S.
Mr. Gock and other witnesses highlighted a diverse range of voices calling for action on gun violence prevention legislation. Witnesses also discussed some of the best research and polling support for the effectiveness and popularity of gun violence prevention policies.
