With daytime highs forecasted to reach the mid to upper 90s through the weekend, the City of Monterey Park reminds residents that City-operated Cooling Centers are available to provide relief from the heat.

Cooling Centers are activated when the heat index reaches 95°F or higher for two or more consecutive days. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated; avoid outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours; and check on elderly family, friends, and neighbors.
Langley Center (400 W. Emerson Ave.) is open:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Tuesday and Thursday | 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
- Weekends | 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
The Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library (318 S. Ramona Ave.) is open:
- Monday and Tuesday | 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
- Wednesday – Saturday | 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
