A beloved local tradition returned in 2025 after a several-year hiatus, the 10K Monrovia Fountain to the Falls Walk/Run takes participants through some of Monrovia’s loveliest areas and is even dog-leash friendly. This year’s race begins at 7:00 am on Saturday, Sept 19.

      By Melanie Hooks

Starting at the historic Library Park Fountain, this scenic out-and-back course climbs through the beautiful foothills and into Monrovia Canyon Park to the waterfall before returning to the finish. Every finisher earns a medal, with awards for overall male and female winners, as well as top runners by age group. Whether you’re racing for a personal best or the unforgettable views, this is a run you won’t want to miss.

Sign up to race ($54 per person) at the official website. Check-in begins at 6:00 am, and all participants must be checked in by 6:50 am.

Volunteers are needed for race day as well and receive a free event T-shirt. All volunteers are required to attend a morning meeting on race day to receive their assignments. For more information, contact Eugene Suk at (626) 256-8281 or esuk@monroviaca.gov.

Of course, race fans are always welcome!
