Military Ordnance Found in South Pasadena Home During Renovation

On August 26, 2026, at approximately 10:15 am, the South Pasadena Police Department dispatch center received a 9-1-1 call from a resident in the 300 block of Grace Drive, reporting what appeared to be an authentic piece of military ordnance found inside a closet of a home being renovated for a relative.

Officers responded to the residence and determined that the item appeared to be authentic. They then notified the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).

LASD Bomb Squad deputies responded to the scene and, after carefully examining the item, determined that it did not pose a threat. The deputies rendered the item safe on-site, then removed it and transported it for safekeeping.

Authorities remind residents that if they encounter an item that appears suspicious or makes them feel uneasy, they should not touch it and should call 9-1-1.
